Missing Storage Location on MFBF

Hello,

We have a few items that are setup with Production Versions (in some cases two of them) and the Receiving and Issue Locations are initialized to PR10.

We currently don't use the BOMs to define storage locations for the BOM, because of the presence of the Storage Location on the PRoduction Version.

However, we are experiencing an issue in MFBF for these items (they are manufactured assemblies), when we go to backflush there is no storage location defined for any of the components, regardless of which production version we use.

There is obviously a setup issue somewhere - so if anyone has any thoughts on this I'd appreciate your feedback.

Thanks!

    Hi Former Member,

You are very correct , it sounds a setup issue.

Since you are not using storage locations in BOM , the issue storage locations should be defined for this materials in there parents production version, if its already maintained and even then its not appearing then , the problem may be materials are not defined for the storage location maintained for the headers production version.

Ex. Your manufactured assembly is B and its used in production order of Material A, please check production version of A, whats the issue storage location maintained there, also does the material B is extended for this storage location.

Also check , "Define Storage Location and Supply Area Determination in BOM Explosion"

you may have maintained 1 or blank for it.

    • If you set indicator 1 Only components, the system checks to see whether the issue storage location has been maintained in the material master record of the components and uses this storage location. This storage location is then used as the withdrawal storage location and is displayed in the component list of the planned order.
    • You use this procedure for detemining the withdrawal storage location if you always withdraw one particular component from the same storage location. That is, every component is used at a specific storage location in the plant.

    Change it to 2

    • If you set indicator 2 Only assembly, the system checks to see whether the proposal withdrawal location has been maintained in the production version of the assembly or finished product. If this has been maintained, the system uses this withdrawal storage location for all components and displays it in the components list in the planned order. If no proposal withdrawal location has been maintained, the system uses the assembly¬ís receiving storage location as the withdrawal storage location for the components. You can define the receiving storage location in the production version of the assembly in field To location or in the material master record of the assembly in field Issue stor.location.
If neither of these entries has been maintained, you can enter the receiving storage location (goods receipt storage location) in the backflush transaction in Repetitive Manufacturing which is then used as the withdrawal storage location for the components.
You should use this procedure when all components lie together in one storage location close to the production line where they are required.

please check it and come back with findings.

    Thanks

    Ritesh

    Hello Michael.

If you talk about components, you should look to the issue storage location of all of them (MARC-LGPRO).

By the way, it can be set:

    - in the material master of the components or

    - in the BOM item line or

    - you could also work with supply area in the work center

    I hope it helps.

    Hi

The priority of issuing SLoc is:

    1 PV

    2. In BOM

    3. In Material master

also check whether for manufactured you have also entered receiving sloc in PV.Also check whether these material are extended to issuing sloc,Also for REM check setting of OSPK.

Check the priority.. may be i have mentioned in reverse order, correct me i am wrong

    Regards

    Hi,

The first priority to find the issue storage location is Storage location maintained in the BOM.

    Since it is not maintained,

next priority goes to issue storage location in component material master. If it is not find, then it'll consider the issue storage location in PV. If no issue storage location maintained, then system consider assembly receiving storage location as a component issue location.

Kindly maintain anyone of the above storage location for your components.
