Dear Experts,

We have created new Company code. While Creating Group Asset with t code AS24, system give the error "Main Asset Number xxx does not exist"

how to do

Dear,

For Group Asset creation, please use AS21.

Group Asset sub number - use AS24

In your case, use AS21

Actually we want to extend the main asset code (ANLH) to new company code. how to do?

we have observed that main asset entry not found in ANLH table for new company code. that y system given the error. how to update it in ANLH table. please advoice.

Hello Bhagwan,

   Each asset (be main or Group or sub asset) are created under company code.

If you have created an asset # XYZ0001 under company code 1000 and now you have new company code 2000...  2 options.

a. if you need asset XYZ0001 still in 1000, create a new one in 2000.

b. using TCode: ABUMN - Transfer within Co Code you can transfer asset with value into Co Code 2000.  Post which; you will not see asset XYZ0001 in Co Code 1000.

we have not required to transfer the asset to new Company code. we want to just extend / create the same asset group to new company code. how to do?

Dear,

I have no idea whether the Asset is Company code specific or not, but as far as i know, it should be Company code specific.

One asset can be used for 2 company codes, but the same asset number would not be possible as the Asset will be created at Company code level and not at Chart of depreciation level.

If your requirement is using the same asset in another company code also, please do as below

Normal asset - AS01 - Take the existing asset and company code as reference and create it in new company code.

Group asset - AS21 - Take the existing asset and company code as reference and create it in new company code.

Please analyse the requirement clearly and come back if you still have the issue
