Hello guys,
I would like to know if there is a way to configure the report (whether in WebI or Infoview), so that when the user clicks on View, it would open the latest instance executed of this report.
I would like to avoid the user to click on View Latest Instance.
Thanks in advance,
Cristina.
Cristina,
Not sure if this is still a problem for you, but for reference we got around this by changing the following setting in BI4 CMC:
1. Logon to CMC >> Applications >> Web Intelligence
2. Go to properties and change the option under "Smart View" property to either view the object or the instance.

Ryan

Hi,
Follow below steps.
1) Open the CMC.
2) Go to Application then InfoView.
3) Right click on InfoView and select Properties.
4) in the bottom select option " View the Latest Successful Instance of Object".
After that whenever user double click on webi report it will display the latest instance only.
Thanks,
Amit

Hi Cristina, Follow below steps. 1) Open the CMC. 2) Go to Application then InfoView. 3) Right click on InfoView and select Properties. 4) in the bottom select option " View the Latest Successful Instance of Object". And grant VIEW access in folder of reports Right click-> User Security -> Assign Security-> VIEW for user profile/ Group and It will work.

Hi Cristina
Amit's suggestion to change the InfoView "Default Viewing Action on Listing Page" preference to "View the Latest Successful Instance of an Object" is correct
This change will mean that every report in the repository will have the latest instance opened when a user double-clicks the document name. They can still access the options to view the base report, it's only the default action when clicking the report name that changes
In SAP BusinessObjects BI4.0 there is no option to configure this - the default view option for a report that has an instance is to open the latest instance when clicking the report name

Hi,
By Clicking the “View Latest Instance” label in infoview will show you the instance from the last report that was run. please see snapshot below for your reference..
When you click on “History” in infoview you’ll be taken to the History screen. Here you’ll see all the
instances of the report, as well as currently scheduled reports.
o An instance is a previously scheduled run of a report that already contains data. On Demand
reports do not create instances; only scheduled reports do.
o When you click on an instance to view it, it does not re-run the report; it shows the data as it was
requested for that particular run
