RFQ transfer to Sourcing: ERP dummy supplier necessary in Sourcing?

Hello experts,

My customer is planning to integrate SAP ERP 6 with SAP Sourcing Wave 7. For this, it is still unclear for me if the dummy supplier you create in ERP and which you enter in the RFQ to define that this RFQ is to be transferred to Sourcing must exist in Sourcing, too. On this I found nothing in the documentation nor here in the forum.

The SAP guide on ERP-Sourcing integration states that this dummy supplier should have an external number range. This sounds as if you should first create the dummy supplier in Sourcing (with the internal number range) and then create it in ERP (with the external number range). Is this guess correct?

If yes, then the RFQ creates an RFP in Sourcing with the dummy supplier which must be deleted afterwards. Otherwise, if the dummy supplier does not need to exist in Sourcing, the RFP will be created without any suppliers.

Could you give any advise on this, please?

Thanks a lot in advance

Karsten

Hi Guys,

the Dummy Supplier does not need to exist in Sourcing; it's used in ECC to transfer the document to Sourcing in the first place. The RFX will get created and the supplier the event will be awarded to needs to be available in ECC when transferring the document back from Sourcing, otherwise the document creation will fail on ECC side.

Hi Karsten,

I don’t believe the dummy supplier created in ERP need to exist in Sourcing. RFx will get created in Sourcing with no supplier.
