There is not enough space in backup disk

Hi,

While doing backup, the disk size is full for one of the maxdb database. By using backup medium groups can we do the backup on two different disks?

Where actual database size is around 290gb.  But i have one 250gb disk and like to add one more 50gb disk.

Can i do the backup using backup template group?   If yes how to create a  medium group for two disks?

Thanks

Srikanth

Hello Srikanth,

1.

what is the the version of your database?

2. To speed up backups, you can carry them out to several data carriers in parallel.

If choose to do so, you need to define a backup template for parallel backups.

Please read/review the document/references at

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/MaxDB/HowTo+-+SAP+MaxDB+backup+with+Database+Manager+CLI

3. Please see example of creating the backup Template at

Hi

Srikanth

try:

Database studio (Version: 7.9.08.01)

(Databse)-> Administration task -> Backup -> Complete data -> New: parallel backup template

There are two devices/files for one backup.

I try it on my test system (winXP) and database (350GB). After backup two files were created on two difrent disk (C: - 50 GB,H: - 200GB).

Best regards,

Lukasz.
