Hi Abhishek

If you are launching a PI 7.0 and PI 7.1 IR/ID from the same pc, you need to have 2 versions of java installed. PI 7.0 uses 1.4 version, PI 7.1 uses 1.5 version. See note #1614742 Using Java Web Start with different PI releases, which describes who you can set Java Web Start to use the required java version when opening the IR/ID.

Hi,

Go to Control Panel->java ->Settings->check the Keep temporary fils on Computer->Increase the Disk Space to Max Size(by dragging that button)->Delete Files->check both check boxes->Delete the Files->ok->Ok.

You will able to launch the ESR.

Thanks in Advance

Hello,

the settings mentioned were already done.

Now every time I open, lets say, 7.0 PI, it takes abt 2mins to open, when i switch, it to 7.1 it takes abt 2hrs to open.

Same is in reverse case, from 7.1 to 7.0

Hi Radhikachetan,

What is the version of PI you are working in? java version is dependent on the  PI version you are working in.

In case you unable to install a specific java version, please uninstall all older java installations from your PC and then try installing the version you need.

Hi Abhishek,

Have you checked  Shabarish Vijayakumar blog http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2006/02/13/unable-to-open-iresrid-xipipi-71-...?, It's for 7.1 version but something could help you with the 7.0 version.

When i had this problem i uninstall the java machine and i reinstall it

Regards.
