Increase the number of decimal of a field

Hi all,

I need to increase the number of decimal of a field. The field in the system only allow 2 decimal, but i need to store the number with at least 4 decimals.

The field is "FACTOR" form the table V_T77HCP_VALU and use the data element "HCP_PERCENTAGE" with a length of 5 and decimals places of 2.

How can i change the number of decimals of that field?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sebastian,

The field length can be changed from SE11, data type (element) - HCP_PERCENTAGE and get into change mode, you might need to provide access key for a change, but please make sure you need to analyze all pros and cons before changing standard field length. I appreciate if you could explain more in detail scenario for thinking of changing standard field.

    • Thank you very much for the reply.

The reason for the change is that in Personnel cost planning and simulation, I need to create a cost item like a porcentage of the salary of the person.

The system allow to store only 2 decimals, but the cost item need to be generated with 3 decimals
