Series Group

Hi All,

We are on SAP 8.82 PL 0.

We have a log in which is restricted except for invoice printing only for a particular series.

In order to achieve this we allocated a series group 2 in document numbering setup for A/R Invoice.

Authorize the user for that series group only.

It was working fine till 8.81 PL 07.

After upgrade it is not working.

system throws an error "TO GENERATE THIS DOCUMENT FIRST DEFINE THE NUMBERING SERIES."

If I give full authorization for all the series groups it works but it displays all the invoices.

Please help me.

Hi Prad,

You must make sure that the problem is not a bug by upgrading your current B1 version to latest release i.e. SAP B1 8.82 PL06.

Do the upgrade in the development server. if problem solved, you must upgrade your live B1 database to the latest release.

8.82 PL0 is not good enough, you need to be on PL4 or newer.

Can I restrict user from going in find mode ?

The user should be only able to select the invoices coming to him through alerts and messages window ?

Is it possible to do this ?

No. I have no idea how that can be done because find mode need minimum authorization unless you don't give the user any permission for the form.

what do you mean by minimum authorization ?

A/R Invoice is Read - Only.

User can find an invoice.

Earlier user used to access the invoices either through alert or through find mode.

But he used to get only the invoices belonging to specific series due to series grouping.

It seems that we have to try for a higher patch level.

You are right. PL0 is not supported because there are more bugs than other version.

Try to use Set as default series for particular User.
