    Hi ,

No , a dialog box cannot be raised without a message.

An action_event is a type of event used in the context of popups(also called dialog boxes).

Basically unless an action_event is linked to a message , the dialog box will not appear.

As I said , an action_event is just a type of event.

Basically when you define an event in blueprint customizing(crmc_blueprint_c->Application Element->event) and then assign it to a message(crmc_blueprint_c->navigation for log messages->assign message log to navigation) it becomes an action_event .

You can check out my weblog

      /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/06/07/customizing-popups-in-people-centric-user-interface

which shows the customizing for popup.

The event and action_event are shown there.

      Regards,

      Satyadeep

Well, You have both actions and action_events in messages. I guess you know what the action_events now for. The other 'Event' is meant for navigation... say you click on a message and would like to open another tab in the application. And the cursor would be positioned in the field mentioned. (Basically event and field name works in combination)

Hi, if you would like to modify the framework class of PC-UI... certainly you need not have any messages. But if you just want to work thro application perspective by just adding few entries in the blueprint tables... . then you should have a message.

Basically, the framework looks for messages which has an action-event, and it would execute the same to raise the pop-up.
