Error Installing 0PCA_C01

Hi Experts,

I'm trying to install Business Content - 0PCA_C01 cube, and I'm getting an error.

I've already installed Infoobjects Calatlog (0PCA_CHA01 and 0PCA_KYF01)

To install 0PCA_C01, i've done the following (as recommend by SAP installation guides):

Selected Cube 0PCA_C01, with options Data flow before and mannualy collect. The boxes related with cube, datasource, infosource, update rules, transfer rules where ticked.

When I selected Installation simulation i got the following error: Update rules: istallation error

can you please help me understand what is causing this error?

many thanks

Joana

HI Joana,

Check the update rule by use of the technical id and find whether it's in active or not ? Other wise Try to activate the update rule alone first , then try to install 0PCA_C01 from Business content.

Another option is instead of manual collect , try to use the Automatic collect option.

Hope this helps,

Hi

I've checked and all used objects are active.. I've tried simulation the instalation of the Update rules alone, and i also got the same error when i tried to simulate installation.

I've tried to automatically connect and i got the same error when i tried to simulate installation

The error is now:

I've checked key figure 0TXTSH and its active..If i compare the key figure itself with content version, the only difference its the date and user that saved the key figure.

Can you please provide some assistance... it's the first time i'm installing business content

Many thanks

Hi Joanna,

that is some weird message as 0TXTSH is a characteristic, no key figure.

What you can do:

check if 0plant is active, and if 0plant has short texts (0TXTSH).

Then I'd activate everything except the update rule.  Do that when the rest is active.

Like that you can pinpoint the exact cause, maybe with a little help from us 🙂

Hi

Thanks for your reply.. I also thought it was strage the message refered to 0TEXSH as a key figure when it's a characteristic..

We are already using it in other flows, so it exists in active state. When i compare versions, its different the the business content..

Whn i choose the cube and all flow before, i don't have this characteristic ticked, so I would assume that it wouldn't try to install the business content version..

The message seems to me as if the 0TXTSH doesn't exist in the content version, which is quite strange..

Plant already exists in active state and uses 0TXTSH...

This Characteristic is not used directly in the cube, but is used as an attribute of several objects that are included in the cube..( but its not ticked in any of them when i try to activate the cube and data before)..

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Many Thanks

I wouldn't let any sleep over it.

Try to activate what you can.  The datasource and infocube have to be active.

Then if necessary you can create the update rule or transformation yourself.

In the mean time you can search on OSS or open a message @ OSS.

Are you sure all necessary objects are present?  Like infoobjects, datasource etc.

The update rule is the link between a datasource/transfer rule and an infoprovider.  Anything missing/inactive in these will generate errors in the update rule.

It could also be an error in the business content.  But if that's the case, then there should probably exist an OSS message which fixes the problem.
