Connecting XI to MSMQ

Hi,

I need to connect the XI to the MSMQ system. I understood that I have to use the JMS adapter to enable such a connection. Is this correct ?

What are the steps that I should follow, in order to establish the connection ? (adding vendor adapters to the adapter engine ?!)

I don't really know the MSMQ system or the JMS adapter...

please help.

    Hi,

I am not sure if MSMQ is JMS compliant( So that u can use hte JMS adapter).

U can try an alternative of using MSMQ adapter from iWay.

    Cheers,

    Siva Maranani.

    Hi Michal,

This leads me to another question...

In the Org. that im in now, they already have a biztalk server. We are trying to understand if we should also use the XI.

As I see it, if they buy the SAP adapter for biztalk they will have the same abilities as the XI have... (RFC,BAPI,IDOC) so why would they want to do that ?

    • The biztalk also have an adapter for MSMQ...

    Am I missing something ?

    please help.

    • Hi,

1.all(or most) of the new sap's products allow you to connect through a native connection with XI (abap proxy)

SAP has many (out-of-the-box) abap proxy solutions right now (like supplying data to BW using XI)

the more NEW your SAP landscape will be the more you'll be able to use abap proxies - so you won't have to write your own but only copy&pase from a document

2.I don't know how monitoring of the biztalk SAP adapter looks like but the XI offers you many great monitoring features of the RFC adapter, idocs and so on... even though you have to find them first:)

3.you can use biztalk to connect to MSMQ and biztalk to XI over soap

      BTW

if you want a biztalk - XI comparision

please call SAP I'm sure they'll give you much more reasons to use it that I can:)

      Regards,

      michal
