Regarding IDES INSTALLATION

Hi

I am about to start the installation of IDES 6.0 EHP5 from the material which i recived from SAP INDIA do i need any key in the middle of installation if yes before Installation how can i find hardware key suggestions needed.

Hi Nirvikar,

You can have as many instances running on one host so that should not be a problem.

Make sure you have the right CD's or download the required software from Service maket place ans start installing . You should first install solution manager, i do not think you will need a solman key for this installer

The steps which i have done are as follows pls tell me if I have done something wrong

I have to install solution manager 7.1 SR1 Dual stack that step I have done after Installation

The following instances are created

1. 1.DAA  97
2. 2.ABAP  00   SID STL
3. 3.Java    01   SID  STL

For this Installation first I have Install oracle Database 11.2 with oracle Instance STL

Then through SAPINST I finished the Installation of solution manager .OS Windows 2008  R2

Now I want to Install IDES SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 on the same Server on which I Installed Solution Manager as a separate Instance

  SID     IDS

Instance 02 ABAP  STACK

For which I again Install the oracle Database with SID  IDS and different oracle home .

Then through SAPINST I start the Installation but it stops at the phase Creating Database

Showing Duplex Error and Installation stops .

Pls explain me the right method or steps I have to follow .

I had used same oracle which came for solution manager oracle 11.2 for creating the database Instance for IDS.

If Some One Gives me the overview of Hard disk Partitioning I have to take care of when I want to

Start this type of Installation multiple Instance on the same server that is very useful for me

Also  I want to configure Solution Manager I have started the Transaction SOLMAN_SETUP

Then it ask for username and password then after it shows the error can I configure the Solman

On the Laptop through  internet connection i have or not Pls tell me the right procedure.

1. For your EHP5 installation you are getting that error because you are choosing 02 instance for ABAP stack please choose a different value like 04 or anything but it should be unique, that should take care of your Oracle error.

2.when you run solman_setup it opens a HTTP page asking you for a username and password. it is the master password you entered while installing. So please use the usernames and password you gave it should work ,if you still have the error paste a screen shot of the error.

As long as you select unique instance numbers for each installation it should be fine.

What is the SID name for orclae is it the same as as IDS or something different please maintain the SID's , can you please go to directory windows c:/ and give me the logs in sapinst_dir?
