Default Segementation Basis and Profile Set

Do any of you know if there is a transaction in the CRM GUI (CRM 7.0 EHP1) that would allow you to default segmentation basis's by business role? I am also hoping to do the same for thing for profile sets. I know you can personalize this in the UI, but I would like to configure these settings by business role. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Jesse,

in Ui , using settings , you can default the profile set and seg. basis for a particular user.

I am not very sure if standard SAP CRM has the feature of defaulting seg. basis for business role.

Hi Jesse,

You can use Authorization object CRM_STYPE & CRM_SEGTYP to restrict or default segmentation basis.

Create a segmentation usage/type (linked to authorization object)  in SPRO and then make it mandatory for Segmentation basis.

Thank you Sunil. Can you tell me where you configure individual segementation bases to a PFCG role? For example, if I want marketers in Japan to access our 'Japan' segmentation basis, and our US marketers to access only the 'US' segementation basis where would this be defined? Looking in the authorization objects I cant see where you could name a specific segmentation basis.

Hi,

it's exactly like Sunil explained above:

Create two usages JAPAN and US. Add authorization object CRM_SEGTYP with read access to usage JAPAN to your PFCG role for japan and do the same for US. Be sure that users in e.g. japan have no access to the usage US and vice versa. If you create a new segmentation basis for e.g. the japan marketers, be sure to define it with the usage JAPAN. This segmentation basis cannot be seen by the US marketers since authorization object CRM_SEGTYP  in their role doesn't grant them access to usage JAPAN.
