ECC to HANA - Question on Data provisioning

Hi Friends,

I have a basic question: When we load data from ECC tables onto HANA box, by using BODS - where the data gets loaded...is it onto the Disc which has a Persistence Storage? Or is it directly into the RAM which holds the Row/Column based tables?
