Hi Mayoor,

It's better to have two project profiles and you can use validation to control project definition vs project profile. I mean, if user creates project starting with coding C he should use profile 1, if he creates project starting with coding N he should use profile 2.

Thanks & Regards,

Murthy.

you can put substitution iwth pre-requisite that if project def starts with CT, please flag the account assignment element for WBS.

If you are not aware how to maintain substitution, get in touch with CO consultant who can help you out.

Hi mayoor,

If the client is insisting on single project profile then why there is two coding mask?. And suppose if they want to to identify between CT and NT, you can very well do it through project types and apply the substitution on required project types.

Else then create the set (T-code: GS01) for NT separately and apply the substitution logic on the set i.e. if WBS element number is in the SET (viz. ABC) then select " Acc. Assgn. Indicator". You will get the results.

Check and lemme knw.

Project Type field can be changed at any time Yateen. User (intentionally/ accidentally) selects different project type, the this validation/ substitution fails.

Where project profile, can't be changed once you save the project.

There are also ways and means to control this issue too.

Anyway, you can try the else option in my previous reply.

Hi Mayoor,

Since you have two different coding masks, and you have requirement which is specific to a particular coding mask, it's always better to have two project profiles. You need to educate the business users about this. What is the harm that they are seeing in having two project profiles? If you implement another project profile, then you can achieve this by validation & substitution method.

I hope this helps you to resolve your issue.
