Hi,

The difference between with and without release status is explained below.

This is an additional control mechanism that you may want to put in place before the condition record can be picked up by the system and use it in the sales order or any other document for pricing. If the status is checked then the condition records will not be picked for pricing means they are blocked and if the check box is not activated then system will use the condition records for pricing.

For example the usage of this functionality is where a company has not decided on the new pricing structure but they may want to simulate the effect of having such new pricing structure within the system. Without the release status enabled, the condition record by default will be picked up in the pricing procedure.

in short you can have a release procedure for your pricing conditions. This will allow you, for example, to create condition records purely for planning purposes, which are later taken into consideration after a pricing release and for this release procedure we need these release ststuses.

Hope it is clear.

Hi,

Let's suppose you have an organization where you use this functionality.

there are two things one is Release Status and another is processing routines.

First thing is Processing Routines can be seen when you create the condition records for example

1. Released

2. Blocked

3. Released for price simulation

4. Release for Planning and Price Simulation

Second is Release Status - Release Statuses are provided by SAP and can not be created by you. So you can only assign the processing statuses to release status.

Release Status and Processing Status both are assigned to release procedure once you configure the release procedure then it will allow you to create condition records for example purely for planning or price simulation and they can only be used for pricing after getting released.

So now in nut shell or in a lay man term I would say that for an example when you create a condition records and you want that those condition records should not be used until approved by higher authority then set the status as "BLOCKED" so those records which have the status as BLOCKED can not be used for pricing until released by the authorized person.

I hope this is clear now.
