SEM going live activities

Hi SEM folks,

I would like to have your 2cents on what activites are necessary for going live phase & just prior to that for SEM. Eg. aspects to check. Any tedious activities requiring more SEM / BW support personnel. CPM / BSC / BPS / BCS aspects?

I know the question is a bit too general but I am not sure what tasks need to be performed for SEM just prior to and going live. Would clients need to engage additional SEM consultants at this point? Any system health check required on BW?

There are the standard cutover type of activities you can find some ideas on ASAP for BW-BPS on this site which is the same as SEM-BPS ASAP on

If you have a new SEM project, it is a good idea to schedule a go-live check with SAP which should be expenses only I believe. You may need more basis support if you are loading a lot of data. Make sure you are scheduling enough time and business resources for integration testing and validation. If you are having performance issues with BW or BPS once volume is loaded, might be good to get someone very senior to come in for a short period to do some performance tuning and I mean a senior Platinum level consultants not just a run of the mill one.
