SAP ECC6 EhP5 Upgrade : BW PlugIn

Hi Experts,

I'm upgrading my SAP ECC6 EhP4 to EhP5.

I have BI environments connected to my ECC6 systems.

BI :

SAP_BASIS : 7.02 SP06

PI_BASIS : 7.02 SP06

ST-PI : 2008_1_700 SP3

BI_CONT : 7.05 SP3

ECC6 EhP5 target:

SAP_BASIS : 7.02 SP8

ST-PI : 2008_1_700 SP5

SAP_APPL : 6.05 SP5

SP-A/PI : 01N_700ECC SP1

So, do I need to upgrade any components on my BW environments?

Hi Chris,

BI_CONT : 7.05 SP3 is fine on NW EHP2. You can refer to below notes:

Note 153967 - BI Content Release Strategy

4. SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EhP2 :

              BI Content 7.05; 7.06

              BI Content Extension for BI Content 7.05; 7. 06

Or you can update to BI_CONT_XT:

Note 1480716 - Installing BI_CONT_XT on SAP NetWeaver 7.02 and higher

And what about ST-PI ?

ST-PI for solution tools, mostly for the services offer by solution manager such as EWA, where interact with your solman system... I would advise you to update it to SP05 as you dont need downtime time for ST-PI patching.

Hi,

I keep in mind that ST-PI is used for Solution Manager.

I thought that PI_BASIS and ST-PI was used by BW system to connect to OLTP system.
