Transfer batches from Customer Owned material to Company Owned material

Hi SAP Expert,

Are there any possibilities way to transfer ZUNB material into ZTOB material?

Hi All,

We want to transfer batches from ZUNB material to ZTOB material. There are two conditions of this transfer:

1. We buy customer tobacco, which store in our warehouse. We want to record the purchase as well.

2. We maintain batches using wrong material. We created batches under ZUNB instead of ZTOB.

Please advise.

You can adopt same 309 Mvt for either Batches or Material with MB1B T-code

Hi Selvi,

Here I would say the accounting entry will depend upon the price control belongs to each material type.

If it is S(standard) and price for both the materials are diff. then entry will go to price difference account .

If the price control is V(moving average) the one stock a/c get debit and another get credit.

Hi,

If both are different material types ZUNB and ZTOB and you are transfering batch with 309 movement type in MB1B t.code, then then valuation of material will changes by creating accounting documents as followings:

Inventory account of material types ZUNB : Cr
Inventory acount of ZTOB material type: Dr

If material have one material type and you just transfering batch ZUNB to ZTOB  within plant with 309 movement type in MB1B t.code, then no valuation of material will changes and no accounting documents will be created!

You want to transfer the stock from customer owned material(non valuated) to company owned(valuated). am I right your customer owned material is non valuated?

If yes, its not a good practise to transfer stock from non valuated material to valuated material as non valuated material doesnt have price and valuated material does have price. even though its possible to transfer it may cause discrepancy in the GL accounts. Hence try to cancel the stock movement which happened wrongly for ZUNB and create fresh movement for ZTOB.

when transfering non valuated to valuated material, accounting entries for 309 movements are

BSX - Inventory account of source material - Dr

GBB- VBR - inventory revaluation account - cr (because of this entry I doubt there will be some discrepany)

Since Material selected is wrong then you have to do Material to Material Transfer along with Batch, Accounting will be just the Stocks Cr & Stock Dr form both the Material Involved.

Yes you are right, for ZUNB, it is non valuated material.
Also I checked on my Finance team, they dis-agree to have discrepancy in G/L account.

Please could you advise for our 1st condition. If we use 309 movement, how will we track for the purchase. Thanking in advance.

If you want to buy the customer material,

- Create company owned material which is a copy of the customer owned material

- Hope you received the customer material through some non valuated movement. i.e it doesnt create any accounting document. In that case, just reverse that movement or issue the stock out with reversal movement.

- now create a PO for company owned material and procure(ME21N) receive(MIGO) and post invoice(MIRO).

I feel this is good practise then transfer of the stock from non valuated to valuated.

ZUNB and ZTOB  is material code or Material type or Valuation class

yes you can change valuation ,class ,you can change Material type also

and you can transfer Material to Material also by movement type 309

If you want to change the Material type use MMAM, If you want to transfer Stocks from ZUNB material into ZTOB material then use Mvt. 309 through MB1B
