Dear experts, are all the fields in the BSEG field be substitutable? is there any fields in BSEG we can't define FI line item substitution for them, how would I know the field can't be substitutable?
also for substitution, what's the difference between define substitution at line item and complete document level, if we define substitution at complete document level, does it asl affect document header? thanks
Dear Robin,
as the SAP note 42615 states:
You can carry out a substitution for some fields. If invalid values are
substituted in this case, you may receive the wrong function or error
messages in standard programs. However, these errors are not
particularly critical. You can currently release the following fields
for substitution:
BSEG-FIPOS, BSEG-HBKID, BSEG-MSCHL, BSEG-MANSP, BSEG-MADAT, BSEG-MANST,
BSEG-MABER, BSEG-RSTGR, BSEG-ZLSPR
I hope this helps.

Hi,
The difference on call point of validation implies the time, when the validation event happens. Therefore, the difference of availability of certain fields on different call point levels. As for subsitutable fields, you can theoretically change it, as this definition is kept in table GB01 ('Exclude' field). By modifying this table, you can make a field subsitutable. However, please keep in mind, that for certain fields this won't work either: though, the field might be available for subsitution, it won't be subsituted eventually.
You can find more info in note 842318.
Regards,
Eli
