Fact Table Data not Deleted & Recreated on Deleting Cube Contents

Hello Everybody,

I have an Infocube which gets its data from an ODS. Sometimes back I had loaded the cube with ODS data. Thereafter, data continued to be loaded into ODS but was not moved into the Infocube. Now I want to Reload the InfoCube from the ODS. For this I want to delete entire infocube contents & reload the data from ODS.

On selecting Delete Data, from the context menu of the Cube, (and selecting 'Delete Fact table & Dim. tables')the error message ' /BIC/FZCUBE/ not deleted & recreated' comes AND the data remains in FACT Table.

Can anyone please tell me the reason for same and how I can delete all the Cube Contents.

Hi Sumita,

You can do the following:

1. After unsuccesfull deletion run tcode SLG1, Object = RSDMD, Subobject = MD_DEL. Find out why you cannot delete data.

2. Execute RSDRD_DELETE_FACTS report (SE38).

Also, I want to warn you that when you will update data from ODS into the cube ALL DATA will go in one request.

Try to manage>delete request wise->then try Delete data from context

Hello All,

Since the Fact Table is not being recreated on 'Delete Data Content' of an infocube there exists few thousands records in Fact Table, Will this lead to low performance of aggregates being created on this cube after a new request is loaded.

Hi sumita,

Tyr this , in the info package window go for tab "Data targets", there u can select the data target to be loaded, there only u can see a check box "Delete entire content of data target" just check that check box, then before loading the data into cube from ods, already existed data in the cube is deleted automatically after that data is loaded.
