detailed description of Info objects for ERP6 and other NW applications

Hello,

at BI in context with extraction I have to do with all applications of NW and also very often with other third party applics.

But for now my focus is at NW applications ex. application set of ERP 6. If I take a look ( with repository browser )

at a table ex. PA0001 ( for human resources ) I can see the definition of info object means data type, length etc. and a "short

description" of field.

My question is : Where or how can I get a "detailed description" of such "info objects". Is there a library existing may be

with examples to get deeper info ? I tried at Marketplace without any success.

Hi Oskar,

Try "help.sap.com" which contains all the detailed description of each and every object in SAP ERP.

I precise what I am looking for by an example :

I know  there is a table existing among others for "personal management application" of ERP 6 , let´s say PA0001,  for personal management, organization. I want to take a deeper look at that table may be because I am interested for extraction ex. to BI 7.0. So I go to  "repository information system"

( T-Code SE 80 ) and take a look at that table ( ABAP dictionary, database tables ). So I get all the fields listed for table PA0001. Fields have a "short description" for better understanding of what is in that fields.

My question is : is there a "library" existing for a "detailed description" of such application table fields , best would be with examples ? What is the best way to get such information ? Shure, I browsed "'SAP Help Portal", different places at SDN but no satisfying answer to my problem.

May be you have  ideas. Thanks for your advice

Check table RSDIOBJT. This will meet your requirement, descriptions of an infoobject

Hi,

Can you please elaborate your requirement a little more? Infotype 1 or PA0001 is on the ECC system which does not have Info-Objects for giving you its data type and Description. If you need details of an Info-Object (or any Standard BW object for that matter) please use the Metadata repository in RSA1.
