Hi Sriram,

Marko's suggestion is right except that Max. size of a data packet is set IN ROWS, not in Kb.

Eugene,

Not in the BW-InfoPackage: 'Maximum size of a data packet in kilo bytes'. Size means nothing in rows; 2 rows of 2000 bytes logically have more impact on dataload then 300 rows of only 10 bytes.

Hi Marco,

In BW-InfoPackage the column for setting max size is read as "Maximum size of a data packet in rows". You can experiment with this setting. It is exactly 'number of rows', not size in Kb.

Hey that for ur fast reply.. assigned some points..

But i did the same.. i have one data package with 34555 records.. the size was mentioned as 100kb. i reduced it to 10 kb and rescheduled. but once again it came only in one data package. still i reduce it from 10 to 1kb?

Sriram,

Maybe it conflicts with the settings on OLTP-side? Maybe it overrules your 10kb setting. SAP however recommends sizes between 10000 & 50000 kb in order to reach opimal performance.

Hi Sriram,

We can restrict the no of records for data package in the OLTP System side. For example if u r extracting data from R/3,see the following steps

1. Log on to R/3

2. Go for SBIW

3. Expand Data transfer to SAP Business Information

warehouse

4 .Expand General settings

5. Execute Maintain control parameters for data

transfer

6. u can see BW source system if it is already created.

If it is there , select it and go for change mode

then enter no of lines (records) u want .

7.If u don't see bw system then create it by clicking

on new entries , then provide all required details.

please let me know if it help u

Kind Regards

Sriram,

In the InfoPackage goto Scheduler -> DataS. Default Datatransfer.

Here you can set Max. size of datapackage (kB), Nr. of datapackets per IDoc per Datasource.

So calculate # kB per record * # records you want to send and put the result in Max. size parameter.

Hope this helps.

Marco
