Automatic Accept/Reject in Inspection Lot

Hi QM Gurus,

I'm creating Inspection lots back of PM Orders for preventive maintenance. The Inspection lot carries Quantitive Inspection Characteristics. Also I maintain the upper and lower level specification (e.g. upper limit 10, lower limit 5)

When I do the result recording in QE51N, depending on the result I enter system determines Accept or Reject. E.g. if I enter 7, system gives a pop-up automatially selecting Accept; if I enter 3 it selects Reject.

But the issue I have is, I still can change what system proposes either to Accept or Reject. Is there a way to stop this? Simply I dont want system to show the Accept/Reject pop-up. The value entered is the only input expected from the user.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Cheers

Deepal

Check your sampling procedures and use the appropriate valuation mode to evaluate a char. manual or automatic. If its automatic then system will do valuation automatically and not give pop up

Thanks Sujit,

But I'm unable to find the any control under Sampling Procedure catering my need.

May be its the way I've configured the solution. But I want to enter quantitive value and system to automatically tick Accept/Reject option behind the scene. With out giving a pop-up.

Cheers

Deepal,

Try this.

  1. QCC0 > Basic settings > Maintain settings at plant level.
  2. Double click on plant code
  3. Go to result recording tab
  4. Search for recording configuration
  5. Select X i.e. all background functions

Apart from this ensure you are not using sampling procedure that contains manual valuation.

Perhaps you may need to set appropriate selected set under proposal for inspection point valuation on the same screen, in case you are dealing with inspection points.

Again I would say go to QDV2 and check the valuation mode...

Hi Sujit & Anand,

I am also facing same problem, I do not see Automatic valuation mode in sampling procedure. Also i have tried Mr. Anand suggestion, Maintain plant setting --> recording Config.---> All background function but still i am getting that Accept/ Reject pop-up.

Please suggest,

There can be one possiblity that system is not able to decide whether char is accepte or rejected ...say you have selected valaution mode in SP as " attributive inspection according to nonconforming units " and system not able to determine nonconforming sample units from result you enter and so on.

Sunil,

I tried with following steps and it worked fine for me.

  1. Inspection plan MIC as quantitative (combination of both single results and summarized)
  2. Sampling procedure as FIXED5 with valuation mode as 100 - Attributive inspection nonconf.units
  3. Acceptance number as 0
  4. Configuration as I mentioned in my earlier post

After this, you need not click on lock symbol in QA32, system does it automatically and valuates also as per the acceptance number. Kindly confirm what acceptance number and valuation mode you are using.

Regards,

Anand

Hi anand,

I tried as per your steps mentioned and working fine but my setting in IMG for result recording configuration is "no background function"

Presently I am not getting that Accept/Reject pop-up now but i found that when i valuate that inspection lot for off spec. value also it marks green i.e. Accept. Actually it should be red ( rejected) . Can u explain more on this or is it dependent on acceptance number ?

Initially, For sampling procedure my setting was "Fixed sample" and valuation mode was "SPC Inspection "   In earlier reply sujit also suggested the same and he was also correct.

Thanks for clarification,

Regards

Sunil

Hi Sunil,

Yes. It depends upon acceptance number. I try to explain further.

Lets say I am using FIXED5 sampling procedure with 2 as acceptance number. It means that out of my 5 readings if 2 fall outside the tolerance range then also the valuation would be accepted. Kindly refer following screenshot.

Is this your scenario?  Regards,
