Change Document in Product Master

Hi Gurus,

Business wants to track the changes in the product master. However, they would only like to track the changes in Administration, UOM and Packaging Data Tab to save table space. Is it possible? Which options should I checked.

I was trying to test and the change document is not recorded if I will not check all the options.

Actually, there is a mass change of product master daily in the SNP 2 Tabso we do not want this tab to be included.

Thanks for your answers,

Raymond

Raymond,

You can turn on change recording in configuration for most Master data objects in APO.  For Product masters, IMG > APO > Master Data > Product > Activate Change documents.  There is a list of objects from which you can select the specific ones you wish to record changes.

You can then review product master changes in transaction /SAPAPO/PROD_CD_READ.

Hi DB,

Yes I was trying to configure that one but theres a lot of option which I am not familiar with. I tried to check only some items like the Product header but it no change document is created.

I just want it to record the changes in Administration, UOM and packaging Data view. Other view like SNP and Lot size data are changed daily so we do not want it to be included. Is it possible?

Thanks,

Raymond

Raymond,

This functionality is not rocket science, there is really nothing to become familiar with.  In 20 minutes in your sandbox experimenting, you will know all there is to know about this process.

... no change document is created.

I don't know how you reached this conclusion.  Records are written to CDHDR & CDPOS, just like in ERP.  If in fact your system is not creating change documents, then you either have a local enhancement interfering with the change document creation process, or you have a system bug.  Check OSS notes, or raise a message with SAP.
