This seems to be an issue with the use of hierarchy.  The hierarchy overrides the setting of the Result Position.

Here is a potential work around:

Find a characteristic that has the same value for all of your data.  Add this as drill down in front of you characteristic.

If you have "Result Position" set to "below", you will now see that this new characteristic has the overall Result at bottom, while your hierarchical characteristic has the result line at top.

Set your new characteristic to display NONE (instead of key or text), and set your hierarchical characteristic to suppress result.  That should give you the display you want.

A warning: Use of hidden column my be confusing for end users if they start do remove or add drill downs.

Hope this helps.

In addition to the general Query properties mentioned earlier, there is also a specific setting for hierarchies.

In Query Designer find the properties for your characteristic, there shall be a separate tab for hierarchy  where you specify whether Lower-level Nodes shall be below or abowe the higher level nodes. The default is to have the higher level nodes at top, but you can change that.

In BEx Analyzer I don't think you can change this setting, need to be done in Query designer.

Guys, I tried your suggestions but nothing worked except Torbjorn but the problem is it made my hierarchy opening upwards. I don't want to do it that way. Any other suggestions please?

Hi Vikram,

In the Query Designer > Click on Query Properties > Display Tab >  Choose Result Position as Bottom/Right(Default).

Let me know if this helps.
