Customer telephone number field length in sales order is different from customer master

The length of telephone number in PO tab of sales order is 16 char where as the lenght in customer master is 30.

I want to know how to make both the fields the same length. Obviously some of you might have come across this before.

Hi Srinivas,

if really your client requires 30 char for customer telephone number in sales order then you can discuss with your ABAP team for enhancement. But in general i do not think we come across more than 16 chars.
