Custom ESS role with EHP5 and Portal 7.3

Hi All,

         I have created a custom ESS role in portal, the corresponding launchpad and the application configuration. I can see the personal info. service and personal profile. When I click on Personal profile I am getting the following error.

I am getting the error only when I set the "Navigation Mode" to "EXT_HEAD", it works when I set the navigation mode to "INPLACE".

Can anyone please help me understand why?

What has happened?
URL http://ECC:8000/com.sap.portal.navigation.helperservice/html/child.html call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.
 
Note

The termination occurred in system ERS with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.
The selected virtual host was 0 .

What can I do?
Please select a valid URL.
If it is a valid URL, check whether service /com.sap.portal.navigation.helperservice/html/child.html is active in transaction SICF.
If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

did you copy from the standard role? did it have similar settings?

Hi Siddharth,

                    Yes, I copied the standard role. I have compared my launchpad with the std. launchpad all the settings are the same. When I change the navigation mode to "EXT_HEAD" I get the error mentioned above.

Most of the application have inplace and only some allow portal headerless window EXT_HEAD

probably there is a limitation in launching the windows in EXT_HEAD as compared inplace!

Hi Siddharth,

Is there any fix or note for this ? I copied the standard Launch pad which is having "EXT - PORT" by default but it is giving me 404 service not found error and when I change to open this "In Place" its working fine.

I am currently on EHP 6. In my previous project I world on EHP 7 and it worked perfect there
