Hi All Experts,

I am new to SAP mobility. I noticed there are some 3rd party applications(such as iPeople HCM app) works as add on to SAP ERP and provide mobile functionality.

I just wonder how does the add on work in general and how it does it "talk" to SAP database?

Thank you!

Maybe I can rephrase the question:

If I want to realize function including check orders, posting GR, etc, which connectors with SAP is better for the job? (IDOC, RFC, JAVA connector, etc)

Thank you!

Hi,

Generally middleware is used and any kind of connector can be used depending on the technology

JCO, .net connector etc.

Mobile devices access the Middleware server which in turn connects to SAP or any other database.

Have you seen the SAP Unwired Patform ?

Hi Gaikwad,

Thank you for you reply. I know the Sybase platform, but I do not know the capacity about what it can do. Can I use it to do things such as: create PM order from outside, MIGO, and other posting?

Addtionally, using SUP also means more spending....not sure how much it will cost....

Hi,

SUP + DOE (SAP Co-Innovation Architecture) has all the capabilities to perform the features as you said. SAP already delivers mobile applications for CRM using this architecture. But I am not sure about ERP mobile applications delivered by SAP. Still you can develop one as you require using SUP & DOE.

This is one of the standard solution(architecture) offered by SAP.

Thanks, Senti
