Improving the BEx Web Java hierarchy selection screen

Has anyone found methods for improving the hierarchy selection screen (when filtering on a characteristic with a hierarchy) in BEx Web Java? In BEx Web ABAP you can quickly select multiple nodes via checkboxes, but in Java you have to add each node individually to the right side, and if you have a big hierarchy the screen keeps scrolling back up to the top every time you select or expand a node.

Thanks in advance!

-Jason

I opened an OSS message on this, and SAP's reply was to enable stateless navigation ("flicker-free"). We are doing some sandbox testing with NW 7.3 and the flicker-free nav is a little better -- at least the hierarchy stays in place when expanding or adding new items, but it still seems like a step backward from the BEx 3.x ABAP interface.
