Hello All,
I am new to MM.....
Several materials are DISCONTINUED.... We want to block new purchases and stop selling it. Stop PO and SO for the discontinued material.
However, we want to finish selling our existing inventory. Sell what is currently avail. in our stock. How can we accomplish this?
I have configured the following --
PO is blocked from MM02 --> Purchasing --> Plant-sp.matl status = Blocked
SO is blocked from MM02 --> Sales:sales org.1 --> X-distr.chain status = 01= Discont w/o replacement
Question-1 Will this allow us to finish selling our inventory or our existing stock even tho' SO is blocked? We want to sell left over stock before discontinuing it.
Thank you for your help,
Victor
Hi,
Create a blocking key as ZA in t.code: OMS4 and set B(Error) for purchasing,sales and inventory managment segments and save. Now assign this blocking key ZA to your material master in Basis data-1 and save. Now create purchase order and sales order but system would not
allow you save the document for which material you assigned the blocking key ZA.
When ever needed in future to create purchase order and sales order , you can remove blocking key ZA from material master and go for tranctions!
NOTE:
Only create blocking key for sales and block material for sales and remove when it is required.To block in purchasing better try for block procurement of material in source list( ME01) instead of blocking key creation of purchase order for material.
