Additional Z Fields in Bill of Material

Hello Friends,

We are adding Extra Z fields in standard Bill of material as shown attached file along with this discussion.

In this development we are planning to append standard table for addition of “Z” fields.

SAP has given Empty column for which ABAP'r wil give the name and same fields were add in table like STPO.

(note- we will not be creating any “Z” table because of its complexity.)

We have below confusion......

1)  Any additions ( new z fields) either in CS01 /CS71 will have impact /reflection in BOM structure ..?   

STPO is the std table for BOM , on which lot of our ( PP module / Some SD Module sales BOM) development , User exit , BAPI ‘ are configured .

2) What will be the effects of such development in entire Production Business process....?

Normally there will not be any effect unless you're using those Z-fields to change the values of other standard field of STPO or STKO etc.

2) What will be the effects of such development in entire Production Business process....?

It depends on how you implemented it and for what purpose you added those fields and the areas of SAP it's affecting.

The general rule is test as much as possible before making moving it to production server with all the scenarios and in all the areas PP is integrated with like MM, IM, WM etc.
