Simple question concerning creation of contact persons

I just work through some tasks in the SAP standard course CR100

One task is to create a business partner and the to create a contact person for that business partner using the WebUI Assignment Block 'Contact person'. It works fine but displaying the contact person afterwards reveils that it is created (in standard 7.01 IDES) in business partner role '000000' instead of the role 'BUP001 contact person'

Is there a reason for that? Where could that be customized?

Can you see the contact person when you search by using logical link "Contact Persons" under work center Account Management?

Yes i see him and i can display him using the 'contact person' logical link

ok. This means your case looks normal. please check the table se16->BUT100 and see the role of business partner. RELTYP must be BUP001.

I find one entry for the business partner (415126) with RLTYP CRM000 but there is no entry for his contact person (415127)

When i use transaction BP and display 415126 then i see the role which is 'CRM000' and '000000'

But when i display 415127 it is '000000'

i guess you hit the 'Add' buton instead of 'New' on assigment block Contact Person.

try again like that first create Contact Person than assign to the organization. if you want to continue with 415127 goto tcode BP maintain for role BUP001..
