Hi Adofo,

Which your version SBO?

If it is SBO 9.0, you import it in core SBO, you can defined template. Administrator/ Data Import Export/ Import FA.

If your version is lower, please use template in

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns\sap\FixedAssets

the file is BAMasterDataImportFile.csv

Hi,

The template is always in

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns\sap\FixedAssets

the file is BAMasterDataImportFile.csv

You have to copy somewhere else ,remove all the rows except the header with the name of the fields

There is a documentation that even not up to date is very valid

https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000838222009E

First start with the more basic one:

columns:

Item Code: Is the asset class say Z-0001

Description: say asset 1

Short Description: asset 1

Capitalization date: YYYY-MM-DD, example 2011-04-05

APC: maximum 2 decimals! is the NET price (value) on the date of capitalization, say 1200

Quantity: Integers only, use it if you are going to handle quantities in transactions in future, example 2

Depr01: 100  This area 100 is mandatory

Depreciation start date 01: YYYY-MM-DD , it is a date in same fiscal year of capitalization date, usually the same, but can be different say 2011-05-07

Useful life 01: total number of calendar months since the calendar month of start depreciation until the calendar month in which asset will end its useful life , only integers , 24  (= 24 months)

Remaining life 01: total number of calendar months since the calendar month of the first day of fiscal year chose for the import until end of useful life

Example: if Depreciation start date 01 is 2012-05-07  and Useful life 01 is 24 (calendar months) and you import for Fiscal year 2013 that starts 2013-01-01 , Remaining life 01 = 16   (24-8)

Depr Type 01: LINP (stright line, netbook value/remaining useful life)

Ordinary Depr 01: acummulated depreciation that you consider has been spent since start depreciation until the start date of fiscal year used for import.

The system will only check that APC - Ordinary Depr 01 >0 , so it is at your decision what to put there,

1200/24*8 = 400  this would be logical value for LINP after 8 months of depreciation

Hope this helps

Hi Jose !

Thanks for your help..

I saw the template and filed it with somes values. When I import, no FA is created.

I type the command %temp% in the run window and there is no SAP lBusiness One Log folder  where I can access the error fileso it's impossible for me to know why the import failed.

Do you know how can I get the error file since the folder  no longer exists?

Hi,

Do you need fa import template ? I have attached the FA  template but you must remove the row no. 7 and next rows after row no. 7.

After the removal, you can use the template and save as csv file before importing the fa template.

Jimmy what do you mean by row no 7 and the next row after row no. 7

Thanks

Hi Isaac,

What I mean is that the words in the row no. 7 are not necessary when you use the template to import. Delete the whole words except  row no. 1, 2 and 3.

More detail can be seen in the attached screen shot:

In the new screen shot, you can use it as reference to develop FA template in ms. excel. I can't attach the excel template because the forum rule prohibited it.  If you want to know the FA template column definition, you can use the attached first screen shot.

You can also try to check the Jitin's suggested note.

JimM
