newbie question

I am new to Crystal Reports and this is my first question. I am preparing a report that shows contributions to an annual fund at an academic institution. I am grouping the results by class year and summarizing the donations.

For each class year group, I want to also show the total number of individual contributors and the total number of class members.

To do that it seems that I would need to know the class year for each grouping and be able to use that year in a formula for a group field.

Is there a way that I can do that?
