Ownership/consolidation application

In BPC 7.5 can 2 consolidation application reside in same appset. Both the consolidaiton application has same dimension.

The seperation one has the historical data of past year and another one has new data for current year onwards.

Has someone worked in this kind of situation?

Or it is ideal to keep 2 different appset for 2 different consolidaiton application?
