Hi SAP Guru's,

I have window 2008 cluster and SAP ERP6.0 EHP4. I want to change parameter in ASCS instance profile. I want to change it from RZ10 but i am not able to see ASCS profiles in RZ10. I have imported profiles af all active servers. But still problem is same. I am able to see only CI and DI profile which is locally installed . My ASCS instance is in cluster. In sapmnt profile directory i am able to see all the profiles.

Plz suggest.

Hello Pankaj,

Please be noted that we can't view ASCS instance profiles from RZ10. It does not matter whether it's cluster installation or not. There is no such kind of option available in RZ10 at all. You have to modify them at OS level only.

Hope it answers your question.

Thanks,

Thanks Every one for your quick reply.

Hi Siva ,

Is there any SAP Note or any kind of document where it is mentioned that we cant view ASCS instance profile from RZ10.?

Technically if we think  it should be possible because in RZ10  it takes profile from sapmnt directory In SAPMNT directory all profiles are there..So why its not visible.?

Thanks,

Pankaj

In the meantime it is possible to maintain the profile of the ASCS in RZ10.

Hi,

Please see more information in note,

Note 1010990 - Configuring a Standalone Gateway in an HA ASCS instance

If you have a cluster, sapmnt were in internal server, or not ? If not please check share, and authorization.

Hi  Bakhtiyar,

This note is describing regarding gateway. But my problem is different. In RZ10 ASCS profiles are not visible. And SAPMNT is also shared to all nodes.

Hello,

I don't know if this is recommended or not. I'm doing it on several production systems and it' s working perfectly.

From a technical perspective, you hvae to know how the RZ10 is working.

RZ10 allows you to manage / maintain the instance profiles and also to have a version management of your profiles.

The versions of a profile are kept in the database and the "active version" of your instance profiles are on the File system. When you decide to "activate" a profile version, it' s dumped onto the shared sapmnt file system in order to be taken into account at next system startup.

So I don't really see, from a technical standpoint,  what could be the problem with doing so for any other instance profiles wether ASCS ERS or any other.

Steve.

Hi,

Check the parameter DIR_PROFILE for the affected server.

See more information this note:

Note 123202 - E:Instance profile is missing

Hi

Please note that they have to be maintained in the OS level.

1490337 High Availability SAP System on Windows Server 2008 (R2)

1528297  Merge start profile with instance profile

The isolation of the SCS instance for the ABAP system is an important step. In this case, the central instance (DVEBMGS<INO>) is split into two instances, ASCS<A-INO>  and DVEBMGS<INO> where DVEBMGS<INO> still contains dialog, update, background and spool work processes, while ASCS<A-INO> (with the new instance number <A-INO>) now contains the message and the enqueue server. The separated ASCS instance is then started on the SCS host.

Naveen.

Hello,

You can still load them in your system manually.

Backuup your ASCS profile at OS level.

You use the create button in RZ10 and give the needed information for th administrative part.

Once done, you import the profile giving the file path.

You save and activate it in order to be sure everything works.

You double check by looking at what is in the file on the system.

And then you' re done.

Best regards,

Steve.
