extending datasource

Hi,

I have to extend my 0mat_plant datasource by adding a couple of fields. These fields are coming from the table MARC which is also the base table for this datasource. My question is do i need to write an user exit in fmod exit_saplrsap_002 to fill up these fields or is it not required to write any code as it comes from the base table.
