BEx Installation Check for Office 2010

Hello all.

Pretty basic question here which I cannot seem to find an answer to.  We are currently in the process of going from Office 2003 to Office 2010,

32 bit.  Some of us have been using SAPGui 7.20, Patch 8, BW 3.5, patch 6....and soon everyone will be using this combination.

What I am used to seeing on the Excel 2003 tool bar once the BEx is launched is the "Business Explorer" tab, which then enables me

to use the "Installation Check" button.

I do not see a button for "Installation Check" under "Add-ins" in Excel 2010.  I realize I can get it to run if I navigate to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\

SAP Shared\BW and then click on the "sapbexc.xla" file, but I do not see a  toolbar shortcut.  Am I looking for something that is not there?

Chris-

I'm interested in your results. I used the note that Sushant listed to recommend that my company *not* install the 64 bit version of MS Office. We have experienced problems with 64 bit installs and Bex 7.0 / SAO-GUI 7.2

Hi Charlie -

It appears that as long as you stick with the 32-bit version of Office 2010, you should be fine.  We finally rolled out Office 2010 (32-bit) to all our field employees and those of us here at Headquarters within the past two weeks.  Many users are still using SAPGui 7.10, although I have had 20 or so "test" subjects using Office 2010 and SAPGui 7.20 for almost a year now.  We have even had a few using SAPGui 7.10 with Office 2010.  In every case, Windows XP, 32 bit, is still being used, although we have a few Windows 7 users out there.  My job is the rollout of SAPGui 7.20, and to see if any of our Bex users experience any issues.  So far, it has been rather quiet.  Our BW version, though, is 3.5, Patch 6, and soon we will be going to Netweaver BW 7.30.  So you see, we have many different combinations out there now.

In terms of my "missing" button......once I played around with Office 2010 on my own PC, I noticed the "Business Explorer" button was there...perhaps the whole time.

Sorry if this is a bit wordy, but as you can see,we are going through some major changes.(as we speak).  In the not-too-far-future, I'm sure we are going with WIndows 7....not sure if it'll be 32 or 64 bit.  The one's out there now are 64, and are working fine with the BEx.
