Problem in Navigation Services

Hi,

When I select a role and SAP_XMII_Administrator under Navigation, I am not able to see the screen where we create the menu tree. Also an error is displayed in the status bar below. But when i select role as SAP_XMII_Developer or SAP_XMII_Super_Administrator, I am able to see the screen where we create the menu tree.

Also when we login through Administor Login we are not able to see the HOME SCREEN on pressing HOME Tab. The following error " Unable to load home page, java.lang.NullPointerException" is displayed on the screen.

Is this problem related to roles assignment. Previously screen were visible for all roles in navigation.

We are currently using 12.1.7.40 SAP MII Version.

Hi,

If anyone has faced a similar problem, solution for the same would be highly appreciated. Also attaching an image which is blank as stated above.

Hi Swapnil,

I believe the problem is with roles.We are presently using 12.2.3 but when we used to use 12.1 we didn't face any such problem.You also need to specify the required theme in the navigation editor or else it won't come.

Hi Shawna,

As shown in above screenshot the Theme input is not editable. Also I had given previously - /XMII/Themes/DynamicHomePage.xsl

But the screen itself is not visible. Is this due to any service activation or service has been disable?

Hi Swapnil,

This maybe a Basis issue also.Have you been given appropriate roles(Administrator,etc) correctly?Kindly check that because if you don't have the required roles you won't be able to edit the same from the Navigation Editor.The Administrator screen should atleast come if you have been given the Administrator role.

Hi Swapnil,

Just an addition regarding the Home screen.Whenever you select navigation theme select "Open Link in Home Page" .Then the Home page screen will come.

I would like to add something, that occured to me today:

I do have the theme and roles correctly using http. (new design from SAP, without orange line)

But since we added certificates and have https, the new theme won't occur (now I see the design with the orange line again, although all navigation items are recognized).

How's that?

By the way, unfortunately I cannot see "Navigation Services" on my MII Menu.

Do I need an additional role to access?
