Material in MARD table but no Storage location relevant views in MM03

Hello folks,

We have a situation wherein a material is not maintained in any Storage Location view but the material has lot of entries in table MARD (Storage Location Data for Material)

Please let me know how this is possible.

Hi Sameer ,

If You have configured the Automatic Storage Location in

SPRO>MM>Inventory Management and Physical Inventory>  Create Storage Location Automatically, Then The System automatically Accepts any Sloc .

If You have deactivated and not maintained any SLOC in Material Master (or)

in MMSC T-code . Then The System doesn't allow You to post to any Sloc's

There have been no material docs posted against this material. No Storage location views have been maintained for this material. We are not trying to do any kind of posting for this material.

Why is this material in MARD Table?

check in OMJJ for 101 you have ticked automatic storage location creation

Auto sloc creation is checked in OMJJ for Mvt Typ 101 but we have never received any stock for this material.

check OMB2 config .. for both plant and movement types.

Check if Sloc extension is checked for any other movement type if not 101 and if you have done any transfers of this material using those movement types.

This material was created few months ago and never transacted in the system. When we were doing an internal audit we found this issue.

Is it possible that a mass maintenance (MM17) was used for these materials some time back for the fields in MARD?

I did check MM04 but no such changes are visible.

Hi ,

Check for Flag Material for Deletion at Storage Location Level ( LVORM = X ) on MARD table  may be all material set for Deletion Flag at storage location .

Did you create material with material type DIEN or NLAG, where no storage location needed!

OR

Did you create material with views General Plant Data / Storage 1 and General Plant Data / Storage 2, where it updated MARC, MARD and MARDH table.

It is a custom Mat Typ that allows the following views only,

Basic Data 1

Basic data 2

classification

sales: sales org. data1

sales: sales org. data 2

sales: general/plant data

foreign trade

sales text

No Storage location specific views have been maintained. So the question of changing does not even arise.

looking at this record in MARD - the LGORT field value - does this SLoc exist in current configuration ?

what is the maintenance status MARD-PSTAT is now?

Yes Sloc exists in config. PSTAT is blank for all records.
