Helló Balázs,

in what format do you need the linenumber?

all lines / Linenum?

Hello Ottó,

I would need it to work as the normal LineNum() works, just to count and display the actual number of the line.So the format should be number for Linenum if I understand the question correct.

Thank you very much,

Best regards,

Just an example:

if you have 3 rows, you need the following Linenumbers?

3/1

3/2

3/3? Or someting else?

I would need only the Linenumbers, like:

1

2

3

OK, then use the standard Linenum function.

Why do you need an other way?

The problem starts from there, that we have to use a Batch Report (based on BTN3 in RDOC) as a Delivery Note. The LineNum() formula in the Batch Report displays numbers starting from 1 again, when a next Item's Batches starting - so it is not continuous in this case.

For example:

Row#1 - Item1 - Batch1 - Linenum()=1

Row#2 - Item1 - Batch2 - Linenum()=2

Row#3 - Item2 - Batch1 - Linenum()=1

The required Linenum should show 3 in Row#3

In this special layout we should use continuous line numbering, as this is a requirement of a major customer for for the client.

Thank you

Have you tried Crystal Reports? I think CR is capable of helping you out in this case.

You can install it to SAP, and there is an add-on to the 2007A version for Crystal Reports.

For more information:

Or you can create a Querry based on DLN1,IBT1 table, which you can export as an Excel or other format. There you can have the line numbers you want. And send it as an attachment to the delivery note?

Or please try the GroupLineNum() function instead.

Thank you Ottó, I've tried GroupLineNum() before, but didn't help in this case. I will try to add an additional field, or the excel export, or maybe Crystal if just I cannot find a quick solution. Thank you anyway!!

I have just tried the GroupLineNum()

I have two items, and the linenum continues as you described above.

In this case yes, but I think it is not the same if you try it with 2 Items, but 3 Batch numbers. So for example Item1 is from Batch1&2, Item2 is from Batch3.

You are right. I have tested that scenario if you add the items per batch numbers. I mean:

Item 1 - Batch 1 - Quantity:10

Item 1 - Batch 2 - Quantity:10

Item 2 - Batch 1 - Quantity:10

the line numbers will be correct.

But if you add the Delivery Note based on order, or quotation it will be uncomfortable to handle it like this. I am out of ides, but hope you can find the best solution.

Hi,

The standard Linenum() function is more than enough for your requirement in the format you have asked for.

Why you need other way?
