The entity name must immediately follow the ‘&’ in the entity reference

Hi,
when processing xml files to B1iSN the I receive the above technical error.

after investigating a bit.

it appears the when I have fields with 'space' & 'space' the system will stop receiving files.

is there a way to resolve this other than go over the files and replace the & with & ?
