Hello Experts,

Kindly help us to understand the issue regarding the duplicate files sent to receiver FTP from SAP PO.

Details: FTP server is timed out while reading the server reply after writing the file, due to this timed out the task is incomplete and PO has scheduled to be delivered , interface reprocessed and placed same file again.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Regards,

Mehar

My suggestions:

1. Best would be to get in contact with the third party hosting the target FTP server. They should increase logging on their side.

2. Make sure (in case of FTPS) you are using explicit FTPS since PI does not support implicit FTPS, see https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1554886/E

3. You may (or may not) get more insights using XPI Inspector to analyse this issue, see https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1514898/E

4. There's a chance that the mentioned "ftp.timeout" parameter in this note https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/849089 works for you

Hi Jens,

Thanks for your inputs,

but our issue is that we received two files on receiver FTP with the same GUID number with a different timestamp.

we have used message id in the file name scheme of the receiver channel.

So by that you mean that the FTP server is on your landscape, too? If you have direct control over the FTP server, please follow figure 1 and 3 from my above post especially, other figures might apply nonetheless.

That being said you might consider opening an incident for that at SAP, too. I think while you should investigate on your FTP server's end what causes the initial time-out, it should not be correct that PI is putting the same message twice to the FTP server (PI indeed thinks that the first delivery was not successful, hence the retry is formally correct, from PI's point of view, however, it's definitely worth inspecting by SAP why there was indeed a file creation on your FTP server that PI was not aware of)

Cheers

Jens
