Variable Entry screen

We have a query with time characteristic 0FISCPER.

The user is asked to enter a value on the Variable Entry screen. This works ok when the query is executed via RRMX (BEX analyser reports).

However, when the query is executed to the brower "(published to brower"), the date is entry is rendered in a strange way. For example, if 005.2009 is selected from the pick list, the date is rendered on the variable screen as "005 09" (should be "005.2009").

As mentioned, the BEX analyser screen renders it correctly as "005.2009".

What is the cause of this and how can we rectify?
