Unable to Connect to BW - Xcelsius

Hi,

I am having issues connecting to BW from Dashboards 4.0. I have tried a few fresh installs on different laptops and they are all having the same issue.

When I install Dashboard Design 4.0, I then go to 'Add Connection' and choose 'SAP Netweaver BW Connection'. As soon as I click on 'Browse' to choose a query, I get a prompt box with an red cross in this, instead of the SAP GUI login pad to allow me to login and choose a BW Query. (see attached)

I know this will be something simple that I have missed. Can anyone advise?

Kind Regards,

Scott

Hi,

To use this feature in BO 4.0 SP 2 there is pre-requisite of Java stack on SAP NW side. However, in Feature pack 3 (which is in ramp-up process) this feature can be used without Java stack.

Hi Prem,

This initial issue has been resolved but when I choose the query, I get an 'Error #2032' error. It appears to have connected to the query but shows no chars or Key figures.

As Shakeel mentioned, the new BICS connection is available in Feature Pack 3 and this is now in GA. This should be the recommended way going forward to connect Dashboards to BW.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Sweeney,

You will find that #2032 is a very common error which nearly all of us face when connecting via SAP BW Netweaver Connection.

One suggestion is to go try this which seems to be cover the issue by this Note - 1423819 - Disable the #2032 Error Message during SWF Runtime.; Also, you can go through http://scn.sap.com/thread/1893747

and http://scn.sap.com/thread/1572797.for checking up on this error.

Otherwise we also have a number of threads running with the same error and its desc. in SCN.

I believe this error comes up when the WSDL connection isn't established properly with Dashboard.

Hello Scott,

Ask the basis to upgrade the patches for Dashboards.
