Data Missing in InfoObject

Former Member

Hello Everyone,

I extracted text data from an r/3 DataSource into BW. In the InfoPackage, under processing i chose

'Only PSA'. Update Subsequently in Data Targets.

Ignore Double data records.

The schedule was successful. I can see the data in PSA. But, in the InfoObject i cannot see even a single record.

It displays 'EN' in language column and 'Created By' in description column.

Could someone help.

Thanks.

Hi sachin,

In the monitor , bleow the details window on the right hand side there should be a tab to start further update..

If you click that further update to the Info Object should start.

Let us know

Ashish.

Hi,

As you can see in my question, i already checked that option under processing.

Thanks.

Sachin,

Just curious to know the InfoObject name, have you tried loading the attributes and activating the master data as well?

Hi Sachin,

You mentioned that you loaded Texts...did you check the Text table of the InfoObject in question?

Hi Sachin,

I agree that you have chosen update subsequently in Data targets under the processing tab...

I would suggest go to the monitor for that infosource..

You will have to schedule further update to the data target manually in the MONITOR window..NOT the Infopackge scheduler..

Hope this helps

Ashish.

Hi Everyone,

Sree - It is a Custom Infoobject. It does not have any attributes to be loaded. The text data has to be loaded.

Bhanu - I tired scheduling again by unchecking 'Update Subsequently into Data Targets' and 'Delete Duplicate Data records' options under processing in InfoPackage. 'Only PSA' option is checked. All the records successfully got uploaded into PSA. Then i manually updated data from the context menu of PSA. The load failed. I have a red status for all records in PSA.

Here is the type of message i get. Message no: 191

Data Record 34 ('1 '): Duplicate Data Record

Here 34 is the data record number.

1 is the data packet number.

All the records have their data packet as 1. But the data record numbers are diff. for each.

Ashish - I tried looking for that option. But, i did not find it under Details tab in Monitor.

Thanks.

Hi Sachin,

Looks like you do have duplicate dat records.

What is the Char value for record number 34 ?

Check if that value has been repeated.

Sorry for misinterpreting your problem earlier..

Ashish.

Hi Sachin,

It appears that for the datapacket 1, record 34 you have a duplicate record, you can go into PSA maintenance to look at this record (1).

Or alternatively if you choose, only PSA and ignore duplicate records in the processing tab and try loading manually. Let us know how it goes,

Hi SSree,

I tried your option. Data is in PSA. But, no data in BW. The data contains text from different languages. We are on BW 35. So, i assume there should not be any problem. In the maintenance of InfoObject, if i make selection for EN or DE or any other language, then i just get 'Creadted by' in the description column (only 1 record though).

Thanks.

Sachin,

just a check,

if you go to your IO definition and then double click on your text table (in master data tab)...here you will see SE11, press content and you will see SE16...try to look the content there !

Bye,

Hi Sachin,

As indicated by Ashish earlier, have you checked the PSA maintenance to see for the duplicate record.

You mentioned that when you tried "loading to PSA and ignore double records" option, you have gotten the data into PSA. Have you tried updating this manually into the InfoObject.

I presume you are doing a full load from a table, what's your datasource comprised of and the table it is accessing, let us know.

Hi All,

Thanks for your responses.

SSree and Ashish - As i said earlier, i was getting the duplicate error for all records. I overcame that error by manually loading into IO from PSA. But, no data seen. Yes, i am a doing a full upload.

Roberto - I checked the Text table of IO. In that, I have entries for all languages with desrciption 'Created by' in their resp. language. But, the PSA contains the complete data in all languages.

Thanks.

Hi Sachin,

Can you check your datasource in R/3 (and the table/view on which it's built) and make sure you have the same key fields in the datasource (in R/3 as that of the table/view)and infosource in BW. Hopefully it should solve the problem,

Hi SSree,

There were 2 key fields in the table. I made them as keys in the DS too. I followed the same procedure. But, i cannot see any data in the IO. I can still see the data in PSA.

The IO has some master data already loaded. It do not have any attributes. The text to be loaded has multiple languages.

Ex: Master Data for IO:

A

B

Data in the text DS:

IO Lang Desc.

A EN eng-desc.

A DE ger-desc.

B EN eng-desc.

B DE ger-desc.

PSA:

DataPack.DataRec.IO Lang Desc.

1 1 A EN eng-descA

1 2 A DE ger-descA

1 3 B EN eng-descB

1 4 B DE ger-descB

In the Text table of IO: (nothing is under IO column)

IO Lang Desc.

EN created by

DE created by(in german)

In IO: (since EN is default in selection screen)

IO Lang Desc.

EN created by

A

B

Thanks.

Hi Sachin,

Not sure from where the "Created by" is coming from.

Can you try deleting the existing master data from IO, disabling the flag 'with text' in the master data/texts in RSD1 and re-enabling it for the IO.

Ensure that you have IO, language, description fields in your datasource as well as communication structure, and map them to the relevant datasource fields in the transfer structure, activate the infosource/Transfer rules, and try loading again with the processing option (load to PSA and then into data targets) in the InfoPackage. If it fails again, let us know the errors and also specify the table on which you built this datasource in R/3.

Hi SSree,

Thanks for the reply. I tried all options. Now, it is acting strange. Let me expain clearly. The table name is TPART. The key fields are PARVW and SPRAS. There are 10 values in PARVW. There are 500 records. when extracted in RSA3, i get all records. But,not all records are coming into BW.

I checked Transfer structure to to see, if there are any transfer rules written. But, i don't find any. I don't understand why can't i see all records in BW. Before i was getting all records in R/3 into BW. I don't rem. making any changes to it.

The records of a value in PARVW (X - 50 records) are not appearing in PSA. Also, in DataStr/Transfer Rules tab in BW, i see both SPRAS and PARVW are selected. But, in Infopackage selection, only PARVW appears. I donno if this makes any difference.

Case 1 - In processing tab, when i choose 'only PSA' and 'ignore duplicate records', 450 records go into PSA. they are successful. when i update them into IO manually, i don't see any values in IO. As i said in my earlier post,

In IO: (since EN is default in selection screen)

IO Lang Desc.

EN created by

A

B

Case 2 - In Processing tab, when i choose even 'Update Targets subseq.' option along with other 2 options, i get 20 errors in PSA (2 records for each value of PARVW have some junk char. Though these junk char. appear in Case 1 i do not get any errors in that case).

Could someone help.

Thanks.

Hi Sachin,

I ran a quick test in and seems to work fine. What I have done is created a datasource with three fields from table TPART (SPRAS,PARVW, VTXTK). Tested extraction and it worked fine.

Created a custom infoobject (YPARVW) with texts (and without masterdata) and enabled the infosource with direct update by filling the application component.

Created an infosource with three fields (0langu, YPARVW, 0txtsh) and assigned to r/3 source system, and mapped the fields accordingly in the transfer rules

SPRAS - 0LANGU

PARVW - YPARVW

VTXTK - 0TXTSH

Activated the transfer rules, the infosource, and created the infopackage (Processing PSA and then in the infoobject), and was able to do the load, loaded for DE and EN languages, all records loaded successfully.

Hope it helps,

Hi SSree,

Thanks for your valuable time. I did the same as you. I deleted Master data and I unchecked the Master Data option in the IO. I have short, medium text and 'Texts are time-dependant' options checked in the ZPARVW infoobject. I then chose a direct update option for the infosource ZPARVW. Then, i activated the transfer rules, the infosource, and created the infopackage (Processing PSA and then in the infoobject). The only difference in TR is, instead of mapping short texts, i have medium texts mapped to the desc. field in R/3. But, the load failed.

I observed that there are some junk characters in PARVW column in the R/3 table for each of the languages. So, those records gets failed in PSA itself with the above chosen option in Info Package.

But, if i choose 'Only PSA' option with/without 'Ignore Duplicate records' checked, then i can successfully load the texts into PSA as i mentioned before. Then, if i update the data manually from PSA into the IO, the request fails and those records are marked red in PSA.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Hi Sachin,

For all those special characters that you see, goto RSKC and mantain them, and then resume your load, it should go through fine from PSA to the InfoObject (as I had to the same as my load failed, forgot to mention in my previous post). Hope it heplps,

Hi SSree,

You are the man. Though i could load the data into PSA and then IO successfully, i have couple of problems.

I don't get Italian Language into BW. Is there any t-code where we need to maintain the language.

In the IO, when i choose EN language in selection condition i get all the values which are in the R/3 table for EN. But, i also get all the extra characters which i maintained in rskc. These extra characters appear for any language chosen in the selection condition.

Also, when i checked the Text table of the IO, then for each language i get only its corresponding description. I mean i don't get all the extra characters for each language in text table.

Thanks a loooooooooot.

Hi Sachin,

Glad to hear that the load was successful. Not sure about the extraction of Italian texts, perhaps others in this forum have some ideas (may be a different post to catch everyone's attention).

Cheers,

Sree
