I m facing the same doubt that other guy faced in other forum but it was not answered,i d like to share it here:

****************************************************************************************************************************************
There are 3 account dimension seen in BPC , after activiting the consolidation application

C_ACCT used for Consolidation App

R_ACCT used for Rate App

O_ACCT used for Ownership App

Whether they all are same dimention with different properties?

How different they are to each other.

Do we have to maintain the master data seperately or is it common maintenance like reference object in BW..

Hi Joe,

These dimensions have different purpose. In a consolidation scenario, you will need 3 applications:

1. Main application (Consolidation)

2. Ownership application

3. Rate application

As you know, every application needs an account dimension. The above 3 dimensions also require their own account dimensions. However, the accounts for these 3 applications are different, and hence, we need 3 different account dimensions:

1. C_ACCT for Consolidation - for maintaining the chart of accounts

2. O_ACCT for Ownership - for maintaining the percentage of ownership, percentage of consolidation, etc

3. R_ACCT for Rate - for maintaining different types of rates, for example - AVG (average), END (closing rate), HIST (historical rate), etc.

Please note that these dimensions are delivered just for reference. You can either use them, or you can create your own account dimensions for the applications.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jav,

These 3 Dimesnions are important in 3 different application.

Consolidation Application: C_Acct

Ownership Application: O_Acct

Rate Application: R_Acct

C_Acct: The Dimension can hold Group Chart of Accounts.

O_Acct: The Dimension can hold Owership Percentages

R_Acct: The Dimension can hold Different rate types.

Hope you get some idea,

Regards,

Srinivasan.

Hi Joseph,

They are different from each other. As you mentioned that these dimensions are used in Consolidation, Rate and Ownership. So you need to maintain Master Data for all these dimensions. For these dimensions in BPC side are you referencing with some other dimensions.

They are different.  In our system, the C_Acct contains our general ledger account numbers used in consolidation.  In rate R_Acct contains our rate types.

AVGAverage Rate
ENDEnd of Month Rate
YTD_AVGYear-to-date Avg
QTD_AVGQuarter-to-date Avg

We are not using the ownership app so I can't comment on that one but these are separate dimensions so need to be loaded separately and can be defined differently...i.e different properties.
