Hi all

When I run the optimizer Iam getting the following errors

There is no Demand Defined(but Demand exists in the planning Book)

Product not assigned to a Location(But Product is assigned to a Location in Product master.Location Product is also Defined in Supply Chain Engineer also assigned to a Model)

Location No products assigned(But Product is assigned to a Location in Product master.Location Product is also Defined in Supply Chain Engineer also assigned to a Model)

Total no of Demands:0

Total no of PPMS/PDS:0

PPM/PDS not defined(PPM/PDS is  defined heuristics run happened successfuly)

could any one guide me in this regard even after Demand exist Iam getting error Demand is NOt Defined

Thanks

Poorna

Hi Poorna,

Looks like optimizer is not picking up the material. One of the reason could be that you have not maintained any cost in the product master/PPM. Please mention atleast one cost. SNP Optimiser does not pick a material if NO cost is defined for that material.

Hi Manotosh

I maintained cost in the product master/PPM but still Iam facing the same errors.

Thanks

Hi Poorna,

  • Have you verified Optimizer settings and integration with APO? Assuming everything is good, the next check will be the master data.
  • Are you able to access your location product in any SNP planning book and populate the data without any errors? If there are consistency errors, please execute t.code /SAPAPO/TSCONS eliminate data consistency errors.
  • If the above step is good and you maintained your master data as well as cost profiles correctly, then next check will be Optimizer input and logs verification. Use t.code /SAPAPO/SNPOPLOG. Check the input tables and see what data is collected in these tables. You may also check the logs (if any available in this report). Otherwise, you can execute another t.code /SAPAPO/SNPAPLOG to check the logs.
  • Another t.code /SAPAPO/OPTEXPLAIN helpful in validating the results. However, there might be no results in your system.

Hope these inputs helpful to find the root cause of your issue.

Thanks,
Rajesh

Hi Poorna,

If there is a demand in the bucket (withing SNP Optimiser planning horizon) and if the costs are defined, optimizer should pick the demands.

Another check you can do, go to tcode /sapapo/mvm, and see uncheck the box 'No Planned order W/O Supply source'

Also, try changing the proc type of the prod to X and run the optimizer. See if it is creating orders. Check in the optimizer logs if the location product is being processed. The log should say 'N location products processed'
