Hello,

Could you please advise:

I have BOM created for 1PC and the costing size in material master data is 1 PC as well. My qestion is can I run the cost estimate CK11N for costing lot size 100 PC. What is the best practice or should I change the costing size in material mster to 100 PC even if BOM for 1 PC?

Thank you in advance for your advice

When you have lot size 1 the system shows the price as 0 due to rounding off. In this case you can run the cost estimate for 100/1000 units and maintain this as costing lot size. The costing lot size affects if you have activity cost related to set up time. If it is not there then you will not have much variation (except for rounding difference).

I suggest you ask your PP consultant as what is the normal production lot. Tell him to maintain it in BOM and then you update the costing lot size and take costing run.

If it happens to be 1 then you can modify your costing lot to 100 and take the costing run.

Best,

Hi,

is product normally produced in batch mode (100 lot size)? Your master setting should be in line with internal/manufacturing processes

Hi

Assuming 1PC(1 piece) as 1 unit of FG.

IF BOM is created for one piece, costing lot size will be generally 1 in MM master. What is the need to run the Cost Estimate for 100 PC?

The Best practice is to create the BOM for 100 PC and run the standard cost estimate.

The reson for this is when i run for 1 PC as it is in BOM and material master data costing 1 view I got the total value 0.

Please advise if i have to change the BOM to 100 PC first

What I want to do is:

Option one:

Run the cost estimate cased on costing lot size 100 without the BOM change.

Option two

Change the BOM first to 100 and then run the cost estimate

Please advise which procedure is better?

Thank you in advance

Based upon your Client requirement.

Costing lot size which SAP advised is 1 or 1000, but not mandatory.

You can run for 1, 100 or 1000.

System will give you

BOM - Material cost

Activity prices

Overhead cost

Combined Standard cost of a Product or Products

Thanks

Hi,

So there is no need to change the BOM though?
